A book for the kids

Looking for a great children’s book? why not check out What’s that noise? by Jackie Hallmark

This book describes the way five children dress up as woodland creatures and discover the hidden world around them.  It’s gentle and soothing, and it is easy for children to understand and engages them in the story-telling process.

Jackie also creates original illustrations, designed around you and your family.  They are the perfect gift for family and friends.

It was all about the girls

Wow, what an amazing day we had when we hosted the Supporting Women in Business event recently in Liverpool.

Our Main speaker Claire Young wowed the audience with her story about taking part in BBC’s The Apprentice, and the rigours of the selection process. I really didn’t realise how controlled those contestants are during filming.

Other speakers included Catherine Wilks from ‘In Movement’ who spoke about how to stand out in business. Catherine certainly knows how to get the party started. Catherine had us all up doing warm up exercises a real ice breaker and great fun.

Next on was Justine Watkinson from Hillyer McKeown, telling us everything we needed to know before taking on staff. Amazing what we need to consider legally.

“Why Entrepreneurs Need Charisma & Easy Ways to Project it” was presented by professional Personal Development coach Jackie O’Carroll.

Which then led into workshops which included:

Accounting for SMEs: Presented by The Accounts Centre

How to dress for your role: Presented by Diva Dressing

Things you should know when working from home: Presented by Keepoint Ltd

Linkedin : Presented by TBC Marketing

How to franchise your business: Presented by Green Frog Consultancy

Twitter: Presented by The Women’s organisation.

Margret Carter “Pâté Queen”, told her story about how she founded award-winning ‘The Patchwork Traditional Food Company’. Margaret set up her business with a start-up cost of just £9.00 in 1987. Amazing lady and so inspirational.

Next on stage was Amanda Moss, well-known as the creator and editor of Lifestyle Monthly Magazine, founder of award-winning Liverpool Fashion Week, and more recently Agency 101. How does the mum of 5 and soon to be mum of 6 manage?

Finally our last speaker was the lovely Marie Claire-Carlyle: Marie-Claire is one of the UK’s top female inspirational and motivational speakers, and author of How to Become a Money Magnet and more recently Money Magnet Mindset. Wow

The Supporting Women in Business event will be run in other areas so contact us if you wish to be part of it.

Finally I would like to thank the lovely Sally Inkster for hosting for us on the day. Sally owns Diva Dressing and I must say looked amazing as always.

Big thank you to Fluke Photography for taking all the action shots.
